Dr Paul

Thanks to Dr Paul Haberstroh for a great presentation at Lake Havasu High School on science and science careers last week. It was one of the best presentations that we have given at LHHS! About 25 students attended and already they are making appointments to begin their college education in science at MCC!

Thanks again Paul

first day of registration

If you are a returning student you can register online today for spring! How easy can it get? But be prepared to pay for your classes when you register. Those that can't pay must wait until a payment can be made. You might try the payment plan at MCC. For more details go to the MCC webpage at www.mohave.edu. If you need help go into the Student Services Office at campus. They can help you and also have computers available for you to register there.

VOTE today

I hope all of you have voted or are going to vote today! I got to vote early in Havasu. I also hope you all voted for Student Activity Council officers. Whether or not you can join a campus organization or club as an active member I hope that you will participate when you can in an event of the SAC. You will have fun, enjoy yourself, and know you are an active voice in the student body of MCC and your campus.

Cool weather

Where did this wonderful weather come from? Love the cool nights and no AC going. We did some planting yesterday and hope for some nice herbs soon. Would love it to keep up until July!

BTW, mornings are slow and easy here at MCC as we open at 7:00 AM. No lines and no waiting to register for summer. So come on by . . .

Back to school for summer

Registration is fully underway and so it is back to school for summer. Need to talk to someone? Come on in. Student Services is open 9 AM to 6 PM and mandatory orientations --- ORT 101 sessions begin tomorrow--call me about that!

On the home front started PT began on my right arm from when I had my tumble on March 31st! I am getting better and I can type again. YAY

Been away too long

Had a spill and dislocated my right elbow... have found typing with one finger is not the way to go. With the help of my good friend Jennine, I get to write again.

Getting ready at campus for summer registration and at the same time getting ready for graduation for the class of 2010. So it is a bitter sweet time, but we do it every year--- it is always hello and goodbye.

I hope if you are one of our graduates that you will take time to savor all and any festivities that commemorate YOUR hard work and achievements. But please remember to thank all of those family and friends-- and even teachers that help make all of this possible.

Good Luck, and Best Wishes to each and everyone of you.

Rainy day blues?

Dark skies and rainy days usually make me just want to go to bed and read a good book, but it is also a good time for new students and returning students to take advantage of a Student Services office and is seeing less students than we usually do! Come in now to begin to make plans for summer and fall schedules, classes, and financial aid before the rush begins.

Summer class registration begins soon.

Thanks Sophomores at LHHS

Wanted to say thanks to the Sophomores at Lake Havasu High School for the great welcome at the Career Quest there last Thursday! Wow over 400 students to talk to in less than an hour! And we did. Also a big thanks to the MCC LHC team of staff, instructors, and students for their help in staffing the booths for the students to visit.

We are looking forward to March 25 now and 437 juniors to talk with!

Quiet here, but not too late to register for spring

It certainly quieter than it was two weeks ago---classes have started and students are going to class, but it is not too late to register for some classes for this spring at MCC. 12 week classes begin this week and more classes start March 24th.

There is also time to submit fafsa (financial aid) for summer session. If you think you might want to begin class NOW is the time to begin the process.

Is it going to rain?

The sky is overcast and I am wondering if it is going to rain. I hope not! At least not until late Sunday after the Winterfest! Hope to you all there this Saturday and Sunday. Come by and visit the MCC booth for information and just to stop to chat.

Have a great weekend and hope your first week of classes were GREAT!

Almost over. . .

Today and Monday and add/drop will be over! Then it is on the road getting all those Compass tests done for LHHS and Telesis students for summer and fall.

At home we are still feeling the loss of our sweet Pinkie. We still have two dogs and of course the cats but there certainly is a huge hole now in the zoo!

Looking forward to the weekend and some quiet time off--reading and finishing sewing "Christmas" gifts. :)

Have a good weekend.

Rain?

Where did all this wet weather come from? I love it (for a little while) but my umbrella turned inside out! And, the weather hasn't stopped new students coming in to see about classes.

Can't believe that spring semester begins next Monday! Where did winter break go and where was I?

Stopping to take a deep breath

What a fast 3 weeks with registration in full swing and new student orientations going on. It is hard to keep up the pace, but I had to take some time last week to say goodbye to an old friend.

Out dog Pinkie ( one of our foster senior dogs) became very ill and then passed away. She was 13 and though we only had her less than a year she was a bright light in our lives at my house. It was hard to talk to students with a lump in my throat last week.

Registration maddness

Back to work and don't stop for a cup of coffee it's registration for spring semester. Time to get the blood pumping after two weeks of being a slug!

Wonderful and restful winter break. My daughter is in D.C. this week with all that cold and snow (he he he). Glad it is her and not me. I only have to wear a sweater to keep warm!

Back to work! Hope you break and the holiday were great and merry---time for school!
